David Whiterod works in the Spatial Planning Analysis and Research section within South Australia's Department of Planning and Local Government.

Speaker Details

David has been working with online geography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for over 13 years.

After having released intranet web mapping systems within the State Government in the late 1990's, David developed the first publicly available online GIS in Australia in June 2000: the Atlas of South Australia.

David has a passion for developing innovative ways to increase the accessibility and useability of data and in particular, the spatial representation of data through online applications.
