A frequent requirement for RIAs and web widgets is that they can be deployed for the web and the desktop.

A workflow for a simultaneous development process by encapsulating runtime specific code into modules and using a build tool is presented. Furthermore background information on conditional compilation, different players, core SWC files and the compilation process is given.
