Perfect Personas – Collaborative tools for designers and developers in Agile environments

"Yesterday’s UIs required clever development and cool design. Today’s successful apps demand much more – an approach that requires us to integrate digital world with the requirements of the physical, from desktop to mobile. Personas can help with this endeavour, reminding us of the human need we’re working to improve, but as the industry continues to move into more Agile approaches, is this design tool still fit for purpose?

  • Difficulty: General
  • Session Track: Team

Session Detail

From recent lessons learned as both Coach and Scrum Master, Matthew will examine the clash of design and development methods in Agile environments and where Personas best fit into the mix. He’ll introduce data-driven Personas as a means of instant integration of user needs into Story Cards based on a recent case study. He’ll demonstrate why this approach works, the value of personas in agile documentation that focuses on the concept of ‘just enough’, and how it all fits into the criteria of ‘done’ for Developers and Product Owners.

From this session participants will learn:Where to use Personas in Agile projects and why it’s a good idea to make themThe use of behavioural data to drive a user focus to the question of valueThe latest data on mobile internet use by regionality, interaction preferences with companies using social media, and web channel preferencesHow to use data-driven Personas in a collaborative design workshop"
