Session Detail

The functionalities of Google's Static Maps API and HTTP geocoding service will be outlined, with a focus on what's new and what we're currently working on.

The benefits and trade-offs of a static image approach to maps (versus the JavaScript or Flash APIs) will be discussed.

Finally, a real-world application of this approach will be presented. We will use the Static Maps API and Google's geographic HTTP services to build a store locator application targeted at users on mobile phones.
