ColdFusion, Flex and the wonderful world of web services and SOA

Each of the common technologies one could use for building web applications today, supports web services in at least a very basic way. But when it comes to service oriented architectures and using more complex web service standards such as WS-Security, WS-Encryption or .NET's WSE 2/3, developers and architects usually have to deal with a lot of issues. This session will discuss how different web service implementations in ColdFusion and Flex could be hooked up with each other as well as with Java and .NET. You will learn about standards in the web serivces world and why interoperability sadly often is still one of the marketing buzzwords in that space. We'll also have a look at the biggest and common hurdles to be removed when building truly interoperable web services architectures with ColdFusion, Flex and other technologies.

  • Difficulty: Experienced
  • Session Track: ColdFusion
