Blackstone Rich Forms

Almost every web application uses forms. For everything from simple text inputs to complex multi-step processes, forms are one of the most important ways in which users interact with an application. But developers usually end up spending the bulk of their time on layout and UI design instead of back-end logic and functionality; 200 lines of code for HTML tables for a few form inputs! Blackstone, the next major versions of ColdFusion, is going to change all that with its Rich Forms features.

In this session you'll learn how easy it is to create beautiful, highly functional, and easy to maintain forms in Macromedia Flash or XML format with rich data grids, calendar controls, tab and accordion navigators and more - all with only a handful of lines of code.

Tim Buntel is the Windows Azure Platform Product Manager for Microsoft Australia where he is responsible for key technologies in cloud computing. He has been involved with software product management for more than a decade at companies including Atlassian, Adobe, Macromedia, and Allaire where he was responsible for various developer platform products including Flex/Flash Builder and ColdFusion. Over the years, Tim has been an active participant in software product evangelism as a frequent author and keynote speaker at Adobe MAX and many other industry events worldwide.
